Amazing Trip for Certified Divers
The Florida Keys is home to the third largest barrier reef system in the world! Most of these reefs thrive in shallow water. As a result our divers can see a huge variety of life while enjoying a long bottom time and short surface interval. They’re perfect reefs for new and old divers alike. We pride ourselves on a more private reef experience. No crowds means more to see!
We have all of the equipment you need for diving. High quality BCD’s, regulators, and dive computers. Mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuits are included if needed for no additional charge. Tanks and Weight are always included.
Our dives will be two tank dives on shallow reefs unless otherwise noted. If you’re specifically looking for something more advanced please let us know with a minimum of two weeks notice.

The Thunderbolt was intentionally sunk on March 6, 1986, as part of the Florida Keys Artificial Reef Association project. She now lies intact and upright on a sand bottom in 120 feet of water. The Thunderbolt is an advanced dive and requires advanced certification or equivalent experience. To plan a Thunderbolt trip please call us at 305-432-1214. Cost is dive trip plus additional charge of $40 for Thunderbolt dives.

We are excited to offer spearfishing and lobstering on our dive trips. Spearfishing is a guided experience. Your hunt guide will provide you with the proper hunt equipment, education, and as much or as little assistance you would like. They’ll even clean your catch at the end so its “Cook-Your-Catch” ready! Beginners will go through the speargun safety, species identification, regulations, and everything else they need to know before starting a new adventurous skill set! Seasoned spear fisherman will get a professional hunting buddy with the local know how and experience.
We limit to two hunters to maximize chances of success. If you have more than two divers interested please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. Price for guide is $150 for first person, $75 for each additional hunter.

Better Than Most proves fresh fruit and water on all of our trips. In the effort to be green, we encourage our guests to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. We do provide a cooler, as well as space to keep things dry so feel free to bring any other drinks or snacks that you would like (but NO BANANAS on the boat!) Adult beverages are totally fine as well, just save those for the ride in.
Better Than Most provides REEF SAFE sunscreen complimentary for our customers’ use. While it is not required, we do ask that you consider using a reef safe option so that we can protect the future of our reefs and continue to see the beautiful ecosystem that is unique to us.

If certified or doing a refresher please bring your certification card. If you cannot find it please contact us ahead of time so we can look it up. There’s nothing worse than holding up the boat because you can’t find your certification card. If we do not see proof of certification, you do not dive. We will not offer refunds for lack of preparation.

Divers – we do not cancel for cloudy skies or rain. Our captains are professionals as well as divers. If the conditions are not conducive to diving we will cancel. If we cancel we will do our best to reschedule your trip, for this reason we always recommend scheduling your diving early in your trip so that you have some flexibility to still dive. Sometimes we are able to run divers but not snorkelers. If we are unable to reschedule due to conditions we will offer a full refund.
If you need to cancel a trip due to planning and staffing, we require two weeks notice for a full refund.
-
We must have a minimum number of divers to run a trip. This minimum depends on the activities happening on the boat. We will get hold of you as soon as possible if it looks like we won’t be making the minimum. If we are unable to meet it, you will be offered a reschedule or refund.

All divers MUST have a dive buddy NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are traveling solo you will either be required to hire the guide or buddy up with another single diver or group. Many single divers end up making great new friends on dive trips but please be honest in your skills as a diver. If you are not confident that you will be a good dive buddy to a stranger, please hire the guide.
